SoCal Coyotes coach J. David Miller made a bold prediction prior to the season-opener for his AAA-level football team.

Miller vows that after playing in two consecutive national championship games — falling short in both — this year’s Coyotes are primed for a return to the title game, and tonight the local franchise makes that first step.

“A lot of people said we could not have professional football in the valley and we had a greater vision,” said Miller, whose squad kicks off at 7 p.m. at Xavier College Prep against the South Bay Spartans (tickets are $10). “We bet we could attract great talent. We can play AAA football at the very highest level that would attract the people we have.

“The guys that make up this team from around the Coachella Valley and around the country, we’ve joined together for a reason. Some guys are looking for their next step, their opportunity. They’ve been knocking on the door. We’re all here as one.”

Victory for SoCal Coyotes Football Team

Dickie O'Neal's Irish American Family Pub & Restaurant, official sponsor of the SoCal Coyotes Football 2013, celebrate it's first football game victory.

PALM DESERT — The #SoCal #Coyotes #football squad began their season in style with a 44-0 victory over the San Diego Spartans on Saturday at #Xavier Prep.

Quarterback Nate Lewis led the charge with four touchdown passes, including two strikes to Rashad Roberts. Kevin Page and AJ Allen also added touchdown grabs for the Coyotes, who led 34-0 at the half and 44-0 after three quarters.


Dan Kelly added three field goals while Devin Howard recovered a fumble in the end zone.
Devin Jones also stood out defensively as the Spartans were only able to reach the red zone one time.

 
Next game:  The Coyotes (1-0) host the San Diego Thunder at 7 p.m. on Sept. 7.

The official "Den" of the SoCal Coyotes AAA Professional Football Team

(PALM SPRINGS) -- There will be a whole lot of yapping going on at #Dickie #O'Neal's Wednesday, August 21, when the popular local #family restaurant hosts the "Prowl and Howl Coyote Coach's Show," followed by the team's #rookie #talent #show.

#Dickie O'Neal's is a flagship title sponsor and now the official den of the desert champion SoCal Coyotes. Both events are open for the public to meet and greet their favorite players and 'talk shop' with coaches.

SoCal Head Football Coach J. David Miller will join host Matt McKay, the voice of the Coyotes, along with other coaches and players for the live "Prowl and Howl" #broadcast from 6-7 p.m., streamed on #Team1010 #KXPS (www.team1010.com).

Immediately following from 8 to 10 p.m., players will mingle with fans for the Coyote rookie talent show, highlighted by #karaoke and the singing of their respective alma mater fight songs.

"It's going to be a historic night," predicts quarterback #Nate #Lewis, 2012 National Player of the Year. "This is a fun way for us players to break (training) camp, let off some steam and loosen up as we head into our third season."
