Dickie O'Neal's Irish Pub as featured in October 2010 issue of Palm Springs Desert Life Magazine.

The northern end of Palm Springs comes alive this fall with two new venues appealing to wildly diverse tastes.

In North Palm Springs, an Irish pub will replace one of the few remaining nods to old palm Springs:  the original Riccio's Italian Restaurant.  The Mediterranean-inspired building that housed Riccio's Italian Restaurant at the corner of Via Escuela and Palm Canyon Drive for decades is transforming into Dickie O'Neal's Irish  Pub.  And from the look of the all-too-happy leprechaun peering out from a banner stretched across Riccio's recognizable Italian street-scene mural, it promises a good time.

In addition to pints and drafts, Dickie O'Neal's will serve Irish fare, such as corned beef and cabbage, Shepherd's pie, and fish and chips.

Workers are still laboring on the old building, But according to the pub's website, www.dickieoneal.com, it's opening this month, or as one harried electrician professed - not soon enough!
