Dickie O'Neal's Irish Pub Restaurant Lineage

Our Irish Lineage
Dickie O'Neal's Irish Pub Restaurant is an authentically "Irish owned" business. The owner's family is part of the Gillespie Clan, from Crossmolina, County Mayo, Ireland. In 1918, the Gillespie family, (Michael, Rose Anna, Peter, and Mary), came to the United States, via the S.S. Columbia, and settled in Youngtown, Ohio.  The Gillespie's welcomed their first American-born child, Rose, in 1924.

Until his death in 1963, Michael Gillespie supported his family in the United States by working in the steel mills of the Mahoning Valley, Youngstown, Ohio.
